We welcome a number of the lesser known breeds to our World of Dogs area, giving you the chance to meet and find out about some that you may never have known about. With a dedicated breed tent, as well as a number of individual tents, you could make the aquaintance of sealyham terriers, cesky terriers, cheseapeake retrievers, Glen of Imal Terriers, curly coats, and many more. All are accompanied by breed enthusiasts who would be more than happy to talk to you about their dogs

As well as resident trainer, Paul Makepeace from Trochry Gundogs, we will also have a number of other gun dog handlers over the year, who will be demonstrating gun dog training as well as helping you with your own dog. Flyball is a fast moving sport whereby dogs are sent over a series of low jumps to collect a tennis ball and return it to the start (usually done at fast and furious pace in teams). This is your opportunity to have a go with the experienced team from the Fenland Firestorms (sponsored by Dandy Dogfoods)
Fantastic to watch and fun to take part in, dog agility is a brilliant demonstration of the partnership between owner and dog. At a few of our Living Heritage Shows this year we are pleased to present some of the national agility competitions, with agility and steeplechase (jumping) events for all classes of dogs: small, medium and large.
So it’s a nail-biting time for the competitors, and for the audience it’s a chance to watch some of the dogs fly around the course… and some of them get it spectacularly wrong, to the despair of their owner and delight of the crowd.
Dog agility will be running at Burghley and Cheshire
Gun Dog Working Tests
The working gun dog breed tests recognise a certain level of training and achievement with your dog..
The format of these will vary slightly between shows, depending on who is running them and the land available. All tests are for open and novice and some are closed, for club members only (but do come along and watch) while others are open for you to enter on the day.
There will be a trophy for first place on each day, rosettes to third and dog food prizes.
